Community Involvement

At Peska Construction, building strong communities goes hand in hand with building strong structures. For more than 50 years, we’ve been proud to serve not only as a trusted construction partner across South Dakota, but also as an active supporter of the people, organizations, and causes that make the Sioux Falls region a great place to live and work.

Our community involvement reflects the same values we bring to every jobsite—service, integrity, collaboration, and a long-term commitment to making a positive impact.

Supporting LifeScape and the Journey of Hope

Peska Construction is honored to be part of the Journey of Hope campaign for LifeScape. This meaningful initiative supports children and adults with disabilities by expanding facilities and services that help individuals reach their full potential.

Projects that directly impact families and children are especially meaningful to our team. Helping build a better future for the community is work we genuinely enjoy—and proudly stand behind.

Partnering With NAWIC Greater Sioux Falls

Peska Construction is proud to support the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Greater Sioux Falls #237 and its outreach efforts throughout the region. Through contributions to programs like Block Kids, we help ensure local youth receive educational, safety-focused materials that make learning both engaging and impactful.

We value organizations that invest in the next generation while promoting education, awareness, and careers within the construction industry.

Sponsoring Local Events That Give Back

Community events play an important role in bringing people together and supporting meaningful causes. Peska Construction is a proud sponsor of the Gold Shovel Classic, an annual event that raises funds and awareness for regional initiatives. The tournament is held at Spring Creek Country Club and serves as a great example of how local businesses can work together for good.

Beyond this event, we regularly participate in community and charity outings that strengthen relationships and support causes important to our employees and neighbors.

Honoring Veterans Through Meaningful Projects

One of the most meaningful projects Peska Construction has been honored to work on is the BG Dean Mann Readiness Center for the South Dakota National Guard, built to honor the legacy of Dean Mann and serve future generations of veterans.

When National Guard Brigadier General Mann visited the site with his family, it reinforced the deep purpose behind the work. Projects like this remind us that construction can serve something greater than the building itself.

Supporting Local Nonprofits and Community Causes

Peska Construction actively supports nonprofit organizations that improve quality of life and serve underserved populations across the Sioux Falls area. Our team has participated in fundraising events such as golf tournaments benefitting organizations like Furniture Mission, helping raise funds for initiatives such as the Place of Grace campaign, which provides essential household items to families in need.

We’ve also engaged with Royal Family Kids, an organization dedicated to breaking cycles of neglect and abuse by supporting children in the foster care system through camps and community programs. Our vision: Building a world free of family-induced childhood trauma by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse and abandonment of children in the foster care system.

Investing in Workforce Development

Building the future means investing in people. Peska Construction partners with the Career & Technical Education Academy in Sioux Falls to support workforce development through educational classes and hands-on demonstrations.

These initiatives introduce students to careers in construction, skilled trades, and public safety, often alongside local police and fire departments. By supporting CTE programs, we help ensure young people in our region have access to meaningful career pathways in construction management, skilled labor, and technical trades.

We also support higher education through our local chapter of the SDSU Sioux Empire Staters Club.

Community at the Heart of What We Do

From nonprofit partnerships and youth education programs to veterans facilities, economic development, and community events, Peska Construction is committed to making a lasting difference throughout the Sioux Falls region and across South Dakota.

We believe strong communities are built through service, collaboration, and long-term investment—and we are grateful for every opportunity to contribute to the people and places that make our region strong.

If your organization is involved in community initiatives or interested in partnership opportunities, we welcome you to contact us and learn how Peska Construction works to support our community.
