Sioux Falls Public Training Campus
The 40-acre new construction Training Campus will house the following:
- Police Training Campus,
- Fire Training Campus
- 911 Emergency Dispatch Center for Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County,
- 8 building structures to house Administration, Maintenance, 3 Commercial Burn Structures, Residential Burn Structure, EVOC Classroom and USAR Structure.
- High and Low Speed Vehicle Training courses.

Education Buildings
Brandon Valley Intermediate School
Consisting of 104,000 square feet, this design included a common area to accommodate 380 students, larger lockers, and an inviting library with large windows. The main focus, however, was the new “hands-on” smart lab. The STEM activities performed in the lab encourage students to show entrepreneurship, to be creative in their approaches and to learn to work independently and in groups. Several stations in the STEM lab include 3D printing, video production and stop-motion animation. “Kids love it. It’s awesome to see them use their creativity and create different ideas,” said Brad Thorson, school principal. “It’s an awesome addition to our school.”

Harrisburg North Middle School
The Harrisburg North Middle School 140,000 square foot school design was intended to enhance the education process with a variety of education spaces including conference rooms and an open pod design for each grade level. The open pod areas encourage social interaction between student and staff in a casual atmosphere. The building is designed for easy administration security and control. Besides classrooms, the school includes technology labs, an art room, family consumer science labs, a media center, gymnasium, two music rooms, a multipurpose physical education room, locker rooms, a large central commons, and a kitchen. This project was completed in November of 2013, on time.

Environmental Office & Education Center
This LEED-certified building with a registered goal of Gold was designed to embody the City’s Leading Green initiative to help implement solutions to environmental, social and economic concerns. These concerns included: energy consumption, air quality, managing land use, increased recycling and conservation of water. This building demonstrates Peska Construction’s innovative response to developing an earth-friendly building using inexpensive, reused and recycled materials. Materials used included tires, QSB panels, wheat board panels and corrugated metals.

Business
SGS Brookings
The SGS Brookings building is comprised of three components: a state-of-the-art lab for testing pesticides and fertilizers; testing area for seed and plant germination; and an office. The 90,000 sq. ft. design is comprised of a steel building with custom tilt-up precast panels, accented with metal panels in the company color at the entry. Natural light flows into the building through clerestory windows surrounding the testing area and floor-to-ceiling windows in the flexible training and break area.

TJN Enterprises Scrap Recycling Inc
Constructed on 20-acres, this 80,000 square foot two-story scrap metal recycling facility, has an office and outdoor storage area used for nonferrous processing. Shear and baling equipment are on site along with car flattening equipment.

American Tire Distributors
Constructed in 2010, this building includes 93,000 square feet of tire distribution and storage. With high-pile racking, the project required specialized air ventilation and sprinkler systems. The entire east side of the structure has 17 loading docks and 8’x9’ overhead doors.

GRACO
Constructed 55,905 square-foot addition. Peska Construction tore down a 480 ft load bearing wall and constructed a temporary wall to the hold the roof structure. This Sioux Falls facility manufactures spray guns, parts and accessories, and provides the following functions:

Lift Solutions
Constructed 15,300 square-foot structure which contains an office and shop. This manufacturing building provides forklift trucks for virtually every application and equipment, with parts and services to support the Midwest.
